Excellent little printer. Really a luxury to have in home. Now, i would like to help all those iPhoto users out there and save you hours of headaches.
For those wanting to print a 4x6 photo from iPhoto follow these instructions:
1) Resize photo to 4x6 from edit photo screen in iPhoto
2) Open any picture with "preview" app and select print
3) Under "paper sizes" select manage custom sizes.
4) Click on the "+" sign to add new size.
5) Type in 4 in width box 6 in height box. Adjust non printable area (margins) as desired and click ok
6) Now when you go to print photo from iPhoto you will be able to select 4x6 size from middle drop down box. As well make sure 4x6 thumbnail in right hand column is select.
7) Print and enjoy! :)
I love this little printer!!!! I was getting a whole setup for a photo booth and this came recommended by a couple of sites.
Pros:
Small and very portable. Did not get the battery for it, have been using the power cord and has worked great so far.
Prints good quality pictures at a descent pace. Not extremely fast but not slow either.
My wife loves the wireless printing from her iPhone. This is awesome because iPhone pictures usually never get printed out and rarely backed up into our PC picture folder.
Has many ways for you to connect devices to be able to print
It comes with a cool carrying case for it, keeps it nice and protected.
Cons:
This is not a bad thing but I had gotten this for a photo booth set up and first, I wasnt able to connect my PC to it. I am running Windows 10 and it didnt seem to recognize it as a printer. I havent looked into it deeply but im sure there is some kind of driver that i need to download for it to work.
The other problem I had is that it only printed about 20-25 pictures before I had to switch out cartridges. It doesnt take but a second to do it but for a photo booth it would have been nice to have printed out more per cartridge. Guess im gonna have to spend the bigger bucks for that kind of printer.
These are just MY cons for the type of use I wanted out of it but it really is a great little photo printer. Love it and im sure ill be using it till it dies on me.
Just to clarify. There is no ink in this printer. It uses a color film that does not dry up. You can print one picture and come back 2 weeks later and the next picture will come out clean/clear like the previous one. Very useful for occasional printing. This is the main reason I bought this printer.
Rank by print quality from best to worst. Ink jet, dye sub(this printer), laser, zink
I purchased this printer in March, and it stopped powering on in mid-July. It worked fine, then 2 weeks later it wouldn't even turn on. I notified Canon tech support, and they said that I would have to mail the printer to a service center at my expense. When I went to the Canon website to begin the shipping process, the site was down for repairs. So, I'm stuck waiting for who knows how long. I will update this review when there are new developments.
When the printer was working, it was ok. The print quality was decent but not impressive. Switching ink and paper cartridges was a clunky process, and the parts felt cheap and easy to break. If you want to purchase multiple ink and paper types, be prepared to spend a good deal of money, In all, I have mixed feelings about this printer, but if I can get it working again, I'd probably be satisfied with it. But if it can't be repaired, I won't buy this printer again.
UPDATE:
After I went ahead and sent the printer back, Canon became much more responsive. In fact, I received a replacement for my non-functioning printer today but haven’t had a chance to open the box and see if it’s new or refurbished (I hate getting a refurbished item when my new one stops working) and how it works. I feel better about Canon service after the initial hiccups.
Another thing: the 3rd party seller contacted me to ask how they could make things right, which impressed me. I don’t mind things going wrong nearly as much when folks take responsibility and actively seek to make it right. I’ll keep my eye out for Hot Deals Electronics on the chance that I might be able to purchase from them again.
I love this printer. I did get the error as in most comments but it was operator error. Not selecting the proper paper size. Make the most of your memories and get this printer!!

This is a great little printer, in two days I printed 400 pictures that my granddaughter took in the Galapagos islands. The color was great the printer never gave a lick of trouble.I am impressed. I have another Dye-sublimation printer about 9 years old it too is great but is not wireless and will not hook up to the computer it only reads camera cards direct of from some cameras. The little Canon is great and seems durable.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife. So far she loves it! Most people these pretty much take all their photos digitally and while you can still go to a store and have them printed out, it is nice to be able to print them out at home on the fly. It is super portable as well so you can take it pretty much anywhere and print photos directly. The print time is a little slow but not unbearably so and the quality is nice. She's enjoyed being able to pick through the tons of digital photos and printing them off on the fly.
I am not real tech savvy but it did get it to print pictures from my phone. Probably took me longer than someone who knows what they are doing but I did get it done. The pictures came out great.
Great job for fall festival photo booth for 2nd annual Trail Bred Riderz rodeo
We gave this to my in-laws as a Christmas gift, and they LOVE it. I had looked for something like this for them years ago, but nothing had great reviews. I just tested this printer our myself and did the photo attached -- I am very impressed with the results! My in-laws aren't very tech savvy, and they were able to set it up by themselves. I highly recommend this printer, and now I want one for myself!
