I normally don't write reviews but these speakers are awesome for the price.I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew cab.If you have the same truck you will need four of these speakers because the rear doors take these same speakers perfectly. You can use the screws that come with the speakers for the front doors but you will need to drill 3/32 holes first. The rear doors need no drilling but you need to use the screws that came with your truck. The screws that come with the speakers are too long.Don't bother to use a bracket for the front speakers. They don't work with these speakers. This is exactly what I had to do for my truck. If you have the same truck this should save you some time.

I threw some shade on these in my initial review (3 stars) because of the almost non-existent bass they generated after installation even with plenty of boost from my head unit's equalizer. I knew then that I wouldn't be happy unless I supplemented them with a subwoofer and in accepting this, I opted to buy a second pair for my rear deck since I was happy enough with the mids and highs and wanted balanced sound front and rear.
Seems that the reason for the lack of any appreciable bass is apparently due to the fact that I installed my first pair in the vehicle's front doors and even with the addition of depth adapters, there simply isn't enough room for them to move enough air for their lower frequency capabilities. This was made clear after the installation of my second pair on the vehicle's rear deck. The rear pair provided much better bass response and their overall sound is superb (within their range capabilities of 50h-20kHz).
I'll still be adding a subwoofer, but it's no longer the urgent need it once was.
Installation note: I installed these in a 1993 Subaru Impreza (IKR?). Both front and rear installation required adapters due to the design and heft of the baskets used in the manufacture of these. If you want a less hassle, you'll probably be happier going with a speaker designed for OEM replacement.
I wanted a speaker that could easily keep up with the typical aftermarket powered head, and/or wake up a stock system.
I bought these with a Metra adapter for my 06 Lacrosse, and didn't need the adapters. These fit the GM ABS speaker rings fine, and had plenty of clearance to the door panel.
I tried one door speaker with the stock Buick radio comparing L to R- even though the stock speakers were in perfect condition, there was no comparison, the intelligibility was marked.
When I put the other speaker in, the imaging was so much better, and even with the pathetic EQ on the stock GM unit, the bass was punchier and more distinct without the mud,
I then installled a JVC Double Din I got on Amazon for 93 bucks-
naturally the difference was not even worth discussing, but these speakers were a perfect compliment to reproducing a "low powered" head unit. The bang for the buck on this was so good, I ordered the Rockford Fosgate 6x9s to get the staging/imaging and quality I'm looking for.
For under 200 bucks for a head unit and 2 pair of Rockfords, you will be happy if you are just looking to upgrade a factory stereo to something that has some quality.
Not top of the line, but great for the price. Huuuuge improvement over my old stock truck speakers! Agree they have a bright sound, not running additional tweeters. If you want a quality budget speaker click buy now. Easy install, just need wire connectors or solder.
These are excellent speakers made of material designed to withstand the wide variety of environments speakers in a car will face. All parts of this speaker are well built and come with a generous length of speaker cable for each speaker. These speakers do sound very well, however, the design does interfere with the main drivers ability to provide the best sound it can. This is not a fault of the manufacturer, but a result of the design. Any speaker with a 2-way or 3-way configuration where the additional speaker elements are placed in front of the main driver will have this issue, so it is expected, but is worth noting for those who are not expecting this. The durability is only lacking, again, from the design. Having the additional components held in front of the main driver is a weak spot and prone to breaking if mishandled or inadvertently hit.
Overall, if you are aware of the minor faults of the speaker design, this is an excellent buy with great sound quality. For a 3-way speaker on a stock stereo, this set is hard to beat and will provide an excellent upgrade for most all people. According to the specifications, as I cannot test this with my application, these speakers should perform just as well with any aftermarket head unit (stereo) using its own internal amplification. Highly recommended.

Bass wasn't quite as good as I thought it would be. Replaced a set of Pioneer paper cones with these and the Pioneer had better depth of bass than these. These have been installed for about 3 months or so and should be "broken-in" already. I don't want to have to invest in an amp really to get better bass. Most info I could find about these was that they had a good response for the output of my head unit so I pulled the trigger. Not really disappointed, but not thrilled either. Functional. Good quality. Decent bass without much muddy-ness. Highs from the center are good.
While they state these “fit” my 2012 Wrangler it was really a matter of make to fit. They are actually smaller than oem. The grills would not fit at all. They do fit nicely in the oem cover but that leaves the speaker with no screws holding it so be aware.
Here’s how it dealt with it. A number of youtube videos indicate that putting sound deadening material in the bar to get better bass. I took that to an extreme by stuffing it tightly so that is pushes strongly against the cover thus holding it in place. I also used several pieces of double sided foam tape to stick the speaker to the grill. Went off roading in Moab for the last four days. Speakers sound great the entire time.
I off road a lot and feel this is enough for crawling. If noy I will update here. The five star are for the amazing sound quality compared to oem. I am blown away. Decent base, though it not a subwoofer, mid tones and high are really crisp.
I ordered two sets of these speakers to replace the stock speakers in my ‘98 Yukon. One of the stock speakers didn’t work, and another one had a big hole in the cheap paper cone. I swapped all 4 stock door speakers out for these and the difference is remarkable. Much clearer, fuller sound with very little distortion at a great price. The installation is a breeze. I just spliced the included wires with spade connectors onto the wiring harnesses in the doors, mounted them, and everything worked flawlessly. Great deal. Highly recommended.
I got these to replace the OEM speakers that came in my 2015 Keystone Outback 316RL and they sound wonderful compared to the crappy ones that Keystone installed. However, they do not fit 6.5 opening. They are what Crutchfield calls in their online description "6.75". So I give it 4 stars due to it not being exactly as described but for <$40 fora pair, it sounds like a great speaker. I use an iRV33 receiver which is not great and there is no amp so a pretty stock set up that make the camper sound so much better. For the money, and slight modification its great! Be warned that due to teh larger size- the OEM white screen WILL NOT fit. These do come with black screens that can be used instead.
Not sure how people say "lack of bass." I had a Kenwood underseat subwoofer, which I wound up turning WAY down now because these speakers provide more than adequate bass in my doors of my Honda Civic. They mounted to a set of of speaker mounts I'd purchased elsewhere for the previous Planet Audio speakers Sound is a great improvement, and I'm very impressed for the price.
