PowerA Enhanced Wired Controller for Xbox One - Black

PowerA Enhanced Wired Controller for Xbox One - Black

I am loving this controller. I bought it just as a backup. I wanted to test and play around with it when I got it and I haven't put it down since. The feel is close to Microsoft brand. I love the programmable buttons on the back. Easy to program and works great. Very helpful in most games. If you don't mind the cord I highly recommend this controller. For the price you can't beat it. And it may just become your main controller.

To date, I've gone through four Xbox 360 controllers, one ZD T wired gamepad and one Xbox One controller. The XB1 controller had a faulty bumper button after a few weeks and both the XB360 and ZD controllers all had the exact same problem- broken wire at the cord's strain relief point. I bought this PowerA controller specifically because it uses a normal, detachable usb cord and so far this has proven to be a wise decision.

I cannot yet speak on it's longevity as I've only owned one for about four months, and sadly the thumb-stick broke (can't click) after I "accidentally" threw it on the floor in a fit of rage. Regardless, it functioned just as well as a normal 360 controller but without the weak fixed cord. So far, it's the best pc gamepad I've ever owned.

Edit Jan/18/2019: I am very disappointed that the white version was recently made an Amazon Prime exclusive.

Pros:
-Overall, it's a decent quality controller for the price.

Cons:
-The extra buttons are not configurable in Steam, JoyToKey, or any other software I've tried. They aren't recognized as individual buttons at all. They can ONLY be used to DUPLICATE existing buttons on the controller.
-The extra buttons are also too easy to press accidentally, so I usually end up disabling them.

Other:
-The diameter of the analog sticks is a little small, but I like em.

When I bought this controller, I was expecting the same thing as the previous model... was I ever wrong.
First off, the controller has a slightly rubber feel to it, which is great becouse that means a better grip and less slips and drops. Also the cord is removable, which for a wired controller means that damage to the cable is no longer the death of the controller but just a replaceable part. Finally, underside of the controller has two extra buttons for serious gamers.
All in all, it's a great buy for the price.

Bought this for PC gaming, so wireless wasn't a big priority. Feels like a regular Xbox controller or maybe even a bit better really. It feels firm and and the sticks have a nice texture as well. I've had it for probably 4 months now and it still feels and works just like the day I got it. Also I appreciate that it comes with a long cord. So pros:
1. Half the price
2. Good quality and durable
3. Long cord
Cons:
1. Not wireless
I would definitely recommend this for pretty much anything except couch gaming from a few feet away.

Just got the controller and it was exactly as stated in the description. Last PowerA controller had an issue with a stick going bad, so I pickedup another.

A note on the sticks - they are not the same as Microsoft contrllers if you ever open it up and want to replace it. I tried on the last one with no luck. Otherwise a decent controller for the price.

Got a super cheap xbone from some guy. It smelled like 10,000 cigarettes and didn't have a controller. I tested it by using the Xbox app on my phone, and decided it worked well enough to buy a controller. This is the cheapest one with prime right now. Feels nice, buttons are responsive. The left stick got stuck in place once when I played for maybe 2 hours... Which is why I subtracted a star. I figure that might just get worse. But otherwise whatever. Cheap enough to work until I decide I need a real one.

Ordered the controller in the evening and it was on my doorstep before 9 am the next day! Right out of the box the controller feels surprisingly comparable to an official Microsoft One S controller... lightweight, buttons and sticks feel responsive, and the 2 paddle buttons on the back are super clutch! For a budget controller and anybody wanting to have programmable paddles on the back of their controller without having to spend 200 bucks on an elite controller look no farther! Got it on sale for $20 but would without question spend the origianl $30 price!!! That's of course if the rear paddles are something you desire.... at 20 bucks this controller is worth it even it last only a month or two... $30, I'd go ahead and shell out the extra 15 o 20 bucks to get an official Microsoft controller....durability will be the determining factor on whether this controll gets a follow up 5 stars or 3 stars... either for 20 bucks I am beyond pleased after an hour or so of playtime!!!

works great but the only thing i can say is that i wish they put a drivers disk then going online since i had trouble getting the drivers online. but works the same and i am not great at mapping the buttons on this controller but works the same and i can say i do like this since it is cheaper then buying a $50 official controller

This controller is very similar to the original controller from the Xbox 1x that's comes with the console. Of course, this one is wired, and the one that comes with the console is wireless. But I have it as a secondary control for when I have local guests to play with. This controller feels just a bit more "plastic" than the original, but very responsive. It has 2 additional buttons on the underside of the controller that can be assigned to specific game functions. I have not routed those buttons yet though. Also, I tested it with PC Windows 10 (Fortnite) and it worked great without having to download drives or anything like that. So, this is an excellent wired choice at a reasonable price.
