These radios were purchased and field tested in a large rural area, with 2 story brick homes and large 30 foot oak trees as obstrutions. This area has about 500 homes.1st test: Radios were field tested at 1/2 mile, radio reception was good and clear, no distoration. 2nd test: Radio was then tested at 1 mile, again radio communication was very good, loud and clear with no distoration. 3rd test: The radio was then tested at 2 miles, again radio signal was clear and strong with no distoration. This area testing has numerous hills between each radio and I was expecting problems, but surprisingly this Arcshell recharable radios functioned without any problems. We also conducted same test with a more expensive name brand radio and the test had identical results. The only issue I find concerning is these radio will not use AA batteries and these are very light weight, plastic feels like it would break if dropped. Other than that, if you dont want to spend alot of money and are gentle with these radios, it should last a long time. Since my first purchase, I have ordered 2 more, and use them daily...Highly Recommend...This is a fair and honest review, I recieved no discount as a result of this review..
Gave these to 12yr old grandson for Christmas. He loved them! I purchased these after reading the reviews and they were in my price range, I liked that they are rechargeable. They seem to be of good quality. Not light weight junk. Very happy with purchase.
Very happy with the Walkie-Talkies, especially for the price. I was able to get easily a full day use out of them, and forgot to turn off one that evening but discovered it still worked the following full day as well just fine. I wasn't able to test out the 2 mile range on these, but I found that they worked well in an office building when one person was on the 7th floor, and I was on the first floor. They do feel sturdy in your hands and evenly weighted, and the belt clips are plenty strong to keep them attached to your pocket all day.
I initially discovered that one of the headsets was torn a bit causing it to not function, but their customer service was quick to ship me another one! I would definitely recommend these if you need a cheap way to communicate or have just for fun!
Wow! I had never used a walkie talkie before, but, when we purchased an older model RV, my husband had a hard time backing it into spaces ( it’s 35 feet long). He could not interpret which way to turn the steering wheel while watching me try to guide him into place in his rearview mirror. And, he couldn’t hear me yelling directions either. So, we decided that we would try walkie-talkies. Worked perfectly from the first time! He just did what I told him to do and we pull in and out of tight spaces with ease! And, we can communicate with another vehicle traveling with us. And, the range is amazing!
I received my order as scheduled. The radios are wonderful. I can hear very clear up to a mile away in a residential area. I haven't tested the battery life.
One issue i have is one of the screws that connects the belt clip stripped. Im going to see if someone at the hardware store can help me get it out. Other than that all has been well.
Once i get the belt clip crews situation fixed i plan on ordering more. I need them for work and a volunteer site.
I bought a waaay more expensive Cobra brand and it does not compare to Archell.
UPDATE: Within 24 hours of answering a customer survey Archell responded and are resolving my issue with the stripped screw on a belt clip. And thus far the battery life is excellent. On one charge im at almost a day and a half with minimal use.
I will be ordering more this week.

These are AWESOME for what I paid for them. We are going to use them on a cruise soon but we have been testing them out and my kid was far away with the sound and transmission very clear and audible. These are going to do the job for sure. They are sturdily made too and I was extremely pleased at the accessories they come with. High quality at a low price - what more could you ask for. This was all because of another review I read here about them before I bought them and they were spot on with their satisfaction. No need to buy any other brand
You will not find a better radio for the price!
I did some test with these radios to see what type of range I could get. The test was done in the summer in full leaf coverage in the trees. The area was fully wooded and in flat terrain. The range I got before the signal began to breakup was 1 - 1.25 miles. I also tested them in farmland country that was flat and zero trees and was able to talk 3 - 3.25 miles. For me this is awesome when compared to normal Walmart type radios that have a very poor range in wooded areas. Also, these radios will not communicate with other 16 channel radios that you see in Walmart or Radio Shack. The channel frequencies are different for some reason and will not work with them, so keep that in mind. These are great radios, long battery life, and easy to use.
For my grandson's 11th birthday, I got him these walkie talkies. I purposely chose this set instead of a child's play set because I wanted him to be able to use them over and over hoping they would be durable with kids use. My daughter-in-law told me my grandson and his two younger sisters are having much fun with them and it was a great choice for a birthday present for him. One that all three kids are enjoying. I recommend this product for 11 year olds kids.
Update: The seller apparently reads reviews, as they sent me two new batteries that seem to hold a charge. +2 stars from the original 3.

Nice little radios with descent range (about 2 miles with both radios outside). The problem is that the batteries self discharge rapidly when they are turned off and not being charged.
Purchased these for camping so we didn't want to spend a ton as most camping 'things' get ruined fairly quickly! We've not taken them camping yet but used them in the neighborhood which is house next to house and walked at least a 1/2 mile away and they were both crystal clear on each end. No noise, static or anything else. I would definitely recommend these. I'm sure using them in open territory these are going to end up going to be able to be pretty far from each other!
