Loma Linda - Plant-Based - Vege Burger (19 oz.) (Pack of 12) - Kosher

Loma Linda - Plant-Based - Vege Burger (19 oz.) (Pack of 12) - Kosher

The texture is just like ground beef already browned when you take it out of the can. I was very surprised. It is also really packed in the can, so you get over a pound, which makes the price really worth it. Think about if you bought a pound of ground beef and then browned it how much you would actually have left. This is a little over a pound and you don't lose any in the cooking process because you are just heating it. As I've said in other posts, my husband is a true carnivore, as in I think he's afraid of green things, LOL! :) The Vege-Burger is perfect for us. I don't know that there are a lot of couples out there were there is a vegetarian who married a carnivore, maybe I'm wrong, but, that's us. He has had this in Enchiladas and Spaghetti with "meat" sauce and has loved both. Both times he was surprised when I told him it wasn't real meat. I did take the advice of the one reviewer who said to make sure you season it. I did season it first, but it's not too bad even without seasoning.

Used in soups, stews, spaghetti sauce, meat patties, tacos. I have been "trying" this and several other Loma Linda canned products for about 12 years. It's hard to distinguish this from ground beef or turkey when cooked in these dishes. I can tell the difference when it's in patties or meatballs, but I love it anyway. Seasoning makes all the difference although I no longer add salt to recipes. So much healthier when I remember to pull a can out. I'm a carnivore since birth, by the way, but I like to try new things. Guess I'll keep trying it in year #13!

The most awesome veggie meat out there! I have used it for stuffed peppers, cabbage soup, meatloaf and many more dinners!! A can goes a long ways!! I would recommend this to any vegan out there!!

I love this product! I used to buy frozen vegetarian meat substitutes for years and was never satisfied with the textures. I was surprised to find out that a great substitute could come from a can! I use it for chili, pasta sauces, sloppy Joes, and meat loaf. Everything turns out great and is adaptable to a variety of flavor additives. I remove it from the can go the pan with a fork if I want crumbles. I remove it as a solid from the can by opening both ends and pushing it out for slicing into burgers. I also use this method when mixing with other ingredients for meatballs and meatloaf.

This is the best vege-burger on the market. It is my favorite and although not as convenient as frozen vege burgers, the taste is right on the money.

I like the taste, but had difficulty making burgers out of it. I use it to make a Vegan meat substitute - tomato sauce topping for pasta

Great texture and taste, but the greatest thing about it is the great nutritional value (protien) for such few calories
My no.1 meal as a new to become vegeterian

I've used this product for a couple of years now and I love it. It tastes so much like ground meat and is delicious. I use it in sauces, in salads and in soups. I recommend it for vegetarians.

We're vegetarians, and this burger is great for anything casserole or chili-like. The cans are the equivalent of a very generous 1+ pound of burger, and very handy to keep in the pantry. I wouldn't eat it out of the can, and it looks a bit like dog food at first glance, but it blends very nicely into whatever you're making. Another plus is that is doesn't take up freezer space. In my opinion, tastes better than many of the other crumbles out there. Very hard to find locally, so we buy it by the case.

I have used this product for 35 years. You must slow saute it with onion and Italian seasoning if you are making veggie "meat" sauce. I use prego sauce mixed with it. Or if I am making tacos I use the premixed taco seasoning and I have been a vegetarian for 51 years.
