I upgraded from a mid 2012 MacBook Air 13", this is my first MacBook Pro and its amazing !
I recommend it over the touch bar model due to the fouling facts:
1- larger battery compared to Touch Bar model ----> longer battery life
2- lower CPU wattage (higher efficiency) i.e ----> longer battery life
3- you have physical function bars ALL THE TIME!!
4- you get better value for the money you paid !
5- nonsuch bar has 1 cooling fan compared to 2 fans in the TB model, ( slightly gets warmer with intensive tasks but negligible).
6- I enjoy typing on this 2017 MacBook Pro, don't worry about the reviews complaining about the key travel!! I used to miss the more travel in the MacBook Air but now I enjoy this more! they also improved the key noise/sound compared to the MacBook Pro 2016 ! so if you have a 2016 model I recommend you to return it if it doesn't make a hassle for you and exchange it with a 2017 one!
7- the processor in the 2017 model is the Intel 7th Generation (Kaybe Lake) it has built in decoding for 4k videos therefore your laptop will run more efficient (longer and cooler)
The description is not accurate since it's i7 and not i5. It comes with one year apple warranty. Overall great product, I love it
Upgraded from a 2010 MacBook Pro and this thing is way lighter and smaller than the previous computer. MUCH faster with a MUCH better screen - but I guess that’s would be obvious with how far laptops have come in the past few years.
We also have a 2016 model MacBook Pro in our house, and we were expecting this to be more or less the same, and were surprised by how different this one was.
Make sure you know and are okay with the fact that this computer has no USB ports - at least not the kind you are probably used to using. This model has the new USB-C ports. So any previous equipment or accessories you may have, like a thumb drive, portable hard drive, etc, won’t be compatible without purchasing a USB to USB-C converter or upgrading your other equipment as well.
We weren’t thrilled with how few of these USB-C ports were on the computer (just 2 in total, and one of these is taken up by the charger which is also now a USB-C, leaving you with just ONE SINGLE port while charging). I suppose the current trend is to have everything be Bluetooth/Cloud, but I think this would be a 5-Star laptop with just one more USB-C port.
Still a great laptop, but make sure it will fit your needs and any current technology you need to use with your laptop. It ultimately still works for us, but we weren’t really prepared to re-purchase Bluetooth/USB-C versions of our current equipment
Fast, light, powerful, long battery life. I was coming from the 2013 15" MBP, which was amazing as well, and this new version is great too. I'm still figuring out dongles for connecting my old devices through USB-C. I'm happy I got the basic one without the new illuminated virtual buttons, because I like having a real escape key at all times.

Description
MacBook Pro features a high-performance Intel Dual-Core processor in a light and portable design. A brilliant Retina Display. And 10 hours of battery life. It's a notebook built for the work you do every day. Ready to go anywhere a great idea takes you.
As for the seller, they were great. Everything went smooth and the order arrived on time without issue.
As for the product... There's no arguing that Apple makes a solid computer with a steady and consistent OS, but their underlying anti-consumer market strategy and general spirit of pretentiousness make me cringe a bit when buying, or considering to buy one of their products. That being said, while the price is a bit high, the MacBook is still a good machine.
Just be aware that this laptop only comes equipped with 2 usb type-c ports and a headphone jack. I think they could have easily added at least 2 more of these ports; especially since there are no standard usb ports, but that's par for the course when it comes to Apple's current offerings. This means that for any traditional storage device including sd, micro sd, USB drives, etc., you will need a peripheral adapter device, sold separately of course, in order to use them. Also true for any other device/ peripheral (such as a wireless mouse or keyboard dongle) that doesn't directly connect via type-c usb.
All in all, the MacBook is light, slim, and easy to carry, making it convenient for on-the-go work or study. And if you can't live without the mac OS, this is the way to go. However, just be aware that there are more affordable windows-based machines on the market that match and even exceed the power and portability of the MacBook series of laptops. Shop around and do some homework before committing.
Great computer in good condition. Only flaw is it looks like somebody dropped it as it has a couple of little scrapes on it. Nothing serious still works but still when you pay $1100 for something, thats not what you want to see.
This is the fifth Apple laptop I've owned starting with the colorful plastic clamshell twenty-some years ago. This MacBook Pro 13" without "touch bar" is absolutely the best of the five. It's light, sturdy, powerful, extremely fast, and very comfortable to use. Keyboards are personal, and this one has had some negatives in the press, but I love it and didn't have a minute's adjustment period -- plenty of tactile feedback and for me best of all it actually sounds like I'm typing. The screen is vivid, bright and clear, very easy on my seventy-one year old eyes. This is the least expensive Mac laptop I've ever bought, but it has a better "feel" and build than the ones I paid over two thousand dollars to own. Much better balance, speed, and brightness than the latest MacBook Air I tried out in a Best Buy until I got some, "Please go away, old man." from the blue shirts guarding the Apple section. My twelve year old granddaughter, who is a serious student, picked it up and immediately went to work without a pause.
I waited a few days before I posted this review. Before I bought this I read what others had to say about the laptop.
Yes, it does take a while getting used to the keyboard...it's a bit noisier and feels flatter.
And I miss the backlighting to the keys - though there is some light there (you know middle of the night work in bed.)
But compared to the 2015 MacBook Pro there are many advantages to this model.
It's slightly smaller, lighter, and yet faster. That's reason enough to love the new macbook pro.
My 13 yr. old grand daughter wanted this MacBook for Christmas, she is in 8th grade advance classes and said she needed it for school. I did my research and found this to be the best price, the service was great and she is very happy with it. Now her brother and sister think they need one also, looks like I will be buying from this company again.
