Like many here, over the years, I've tried many brands and models including many so-called "elite" wireless routers that cost 3x+ what this router costs. I admit, I've only had it a short time, but this router is, by far, the biggest bang for the buck router I've ever owned. The router I replaced would give an anemic borderline 1 bar in our bedroom 2 floors up. I had to use an extender to get coverage everywhere in the house. When the main router went belly-up, I saw this one and was a little skeptical of the reviews... it sounded too good to be true. But I kid you not, I now have 3 bars up in the bedroom, and the poor little extender is going to atrophy due to non use! The range on this thing is absolutely, without question, the best I have ever seen. Set-up is a breeze, I was up and running less than 5 minutes after plugging it in to the cable modem. Would buy again, and encourage you to give it serious consideration if you need a good long range router without busting your wallet.
I bought this model because I own a house with a metal roof and the previous older router I had wasn't cutting it. I am super impressed with the range of this model. My girlfriends parents bought this exact same model and they live a block away from me and I get signal from their router to just barely inside my house. Mine covers the entirety of the house including the basement with no issues (about 1400 square feet) and extends outside a little too (I'm guessing my metal roof isn't letting much out)
Setting up the router took me just a few minutes. It has an auto setup menu that asks just a few questions as well as an advanced mode for more tech savvy users.
Only drawback is that the router cannot be hung up on a wall it has to sit on a bookshelf or on a table, but that's no big issue to me. it sits about a foot high.
I'm very happy with my product and would definitely recommend this router.
This is a very fine router, works great, very easy to set up. It has a 3 year warranty, and mine lasted a little more than a year when it started getting wonky, not able to remain connected to the internet. I internet chatted with customer service (they seem to be in the US--California--and there is no communication problem) and it took about 1/2 hour for them to determine I needed a replacement. I received a shipping label to return my old router a few days later (it's free) and received my new router a few days later. Sometimes we overlook service and warranty for price and performance. This unit provides both.
The AC1900 is a solid mid-tier option in the wireless market. It has many of the features that low-end routers are missing (ac, signal shaping, network repeating). It is reliable and has been running without a single issue.
It is a little bit larger than some other routers, but I believe the extended range makes it worth it. The router can be set up in three configurations: as pictured (standing upright, antennae sticking up), flat on a desk (collapsing the silver foot), or mounted on a wall
Note that while it does have longer range than cheaper routers, it is not a fix all. There are still limits: in my case, 75 feet through an exterior brick wall and 4-5 interior, solid walls is too much for both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands on all router I use. However, removing that interior wall brings the signal strength up to "Good".
I am using this as a range extender....works very well with very good coverage. I wish I could say this about my provider, Century Link...but
at least you get about 1/2 what you are paying for. But if you haqve a good connection to the world, this is a very good wireless router

Description
AC1900 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Wi-Fi router
This not only a beautifully designed router, which saves space and delivers the great benefits promised on online reviews.
Set up was a breeze when I selected "Basic", no hiccups, no problems at all.
Note that I have Comcast/Xfinity Basic Internet service: 3Mbps down and 0.78Mbps Up. Not very fast at all but, when I replaced my older Netgear WNR2000v3 ( has was working but I wasn't happy) with this TP Link, it's like I have new pc and higher internet speed.
Noticed the following, notable improvements:
-Browsing, navigating all over the place, is much faster and crisp to any of my bookmarks. Opening closing windows, viewing videos on YouTube. All executed quickly without problems.
-Checking and rechecking internet speed is verifies that I getting, at least, Basic speed, or more.
-The WiFi signal strength is significantly improved in my 3 bedroom house. To three different devices which had problems before. Router is sitting on top of my printer on my desk. Nothing fancy here.
-NetFlix, Amazon streaming videos 720 HD and no fluctuating resolution as I had before.
No complaints about my older Netgear, it has served me well, for years but, maybe is was starting to fail and it's all a coincidence. I don't really believe that because the features of this Archer C9 TP-Link router should deliver what I have just confirmed.
So this router is not only benefit higher internet speeds but also the lowly speeds like mine!
-Blue indicator lights on the top front are just the right intensity level and hue, almost forgot.
-Power supply is perfectly narrow to fit in a crowded power strip.
I purchased both the TP-Link AC1750 Archer C7 & AC1900 Archer C9. Both routers are excellent but I decided on the C9. From my experience the distance on the C9 is better than the C7. The C7 did reach every area of my house and property but I found a stronger signal on both 2.4GHz & 5GHz signals with the C9 in the same areas. The 5GHz signal on the C9 also reached further. I am in a 4000sqft house and 1/2 acre property. The C9 router reaches every inch of my house and every acre of my property. Going through 4 walls and upstairs I get 3 bars of connection in my master bathroom. My previous set up of having 2 routers on each end of my house only yield 2 bars. At the furthest end of my property line I am getting 3 bars of connection where as my previous set up could not reach beyond my patio.
Set up is a breeze. Having the router for almost 1 month I have not had to reset at all. Initially my older laptop connected but could not get an internet signal. I had to make an adjustment to the laptop's wireless card setting. So if anyone is having a connection problem try the following -
1. Got Network & Internet Settings
2. Go to Change Adapter Options
3. Find your wireless connection (can be wired connection too) and right click on it
4. Click on Properties
5. Look for Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and single click on it, this will highlight it and allow access to the Properties tab
6. Click Properties tab and make sure both Obtain an IP address automatically & Obtain DNS server address automatically are selected.
My DNS server address property was not selected and was set to a particular address. Once I changed it to the automatically selection I was immediately connected and have not been disconnected. The C9 is the best router I have owned followed by the C7.
I don't write much Amazon reviews, but this product has truly improved my internet speed.
I replaced the modem that came with Verizon FIOS and my internet speed has very noticeably improved and much more consistent.
I think the problem was my FIOS modem did not have strong signal to reach my computer at the other side of my apartment and this router definitely have a longer range.
Replaced older router which died. This one installed with ease in just minutes. 2400 sq ft two story home. router located lower level at end of house. Great reception anywhere in the house and throughout my yard. Recommend and would buy again.
I don't give a lot of five stars on technology items however I've had this router for a couple of years now without any issues. It is just as advanced as the 400.00 units for 1/3 the cost. I am an IT admin (20 years) and this is one of the better (cheap) units out there.
