AT&T CL2940 Corded Phone with Caller ID/Call waiting, Speakerphone, XL Tilt Display, XL Buttons & Audio Assist Volume Boost

AT&T CL2940 Corded Phone with Caller ID/Call waiting, Speakerphone, XL Tilt Display, XL Buttons & Audio Assist Volume Boost

Easy to use and set up.. Instructions not needed.

Phone is straightforward to use. VERY loud speaker phone, nice large buttons that make for easy dialing and to read. The audio assist for the handset - for those with hearing problems - is a major plus. Caller ID is bright and clear; easy to read as well. Phone is well made and well worth more than the $20 or so I paid for it.

Step father is hard of hearing and has no issues with this phone, no more shouting! Mom can see the numbers and options on the phone without her glasses. Win-win!

My mom had some very specific requirements when she asked me to shop for a a replacement for her vintage-1982 (seriously) programmable desk phone that recently died. One of the main requirements was the ability to enter the number to be dialed before committing to dialing it (just like on a cell phone). I believe this requirement is important to her because her visual limitations mean she dials slowly (so the dial tone would time out) and also that she wants to be able to check her entry before dialing (to avoid wrong numbers). This phone filled that bill even better than I had hoped: You can just enter the number with the phone on hook -- there's even a backspace key -- and then it dials automatically when you pick up the handset or activate the speakerphone. Other points: The LCD display is adjustable, which is really important for an LCD. The method for programming numbers into the memory is typical (i.e., rather tedious) but it seems to work just fine. Mom likes to use the speakerphone feature and it sounds very good from my end of the conversation.

Needed a basic corded phone to connect to my cable VoIP line. It was going to be pretty much a placeholder for the most part since I only use that line as a backup service in case my regular landline phone is down. But I also wanted something more than a $9 Trimline so that if necessary, it could be used in my home office should my desk phone there call it quits. I had purchased the CL2940 for my parents last Christmas to replace a similar unit they had for 11 years, and trhey have had no problems with it. So I picked up one for myself and it fits the bill nicely. The big buttons and large screen are easy to see and use, I like that I can turn the ringer completely off but it will still flash a light when "ringing", and it's a nice sturdy size and weight that won't easily fall off a table if the line is tugged. The speakerphone is as clear as the handset unless there's a lot of background noise. All in all, this is a competent corded phone with nice features and good value.

It is an inexpensive phone and it isn't cordless. No battery to worry about dying during the middle of a call. With out cell phone coverage at the house, we have to have a landline.

This phone works well, even though the photo isn't an exact view of the phone (the red and yellow buttons are actually black on the one I received) there haven't been any issues with it.

The family doesn't like it because now they have to get up to go answer the phone instead of keeping a cordless one within reach.

Me? I like it.....it works when I need it.

My n'laws are nearly 80 and they require a large button phone in the kitchen. We picked this particular unit after they dropped and cracked their last phone. We appreciate: the large buttons (mind you, they aren't too oversized), the Caller ID display (required 4 AA batteries that DO NOT come with it), the black color and the overall ease of operation (they started playing with it right out of the box). On the flipside, it needs a longer phone cord (and we ordered one at the same time when ordered the phone) and the handset isn't as ergonomic as we like. For the overall value, it's just what they needed (not too fancy or complicated) and it's nice looking.

We also ordered my n'laws a phone stand to go under it on their counter top, which they love (rolodex phone stand - got it on Amazon, too). Paired with the phone, they were well-received gifts!

Keep it simple at home with the AT&T CL2940 corded speakerphone. A large tilt display and extra large buttons make viewing and dialing easier, while Audio Assist and a 10-number speed dial further enhance usability. The phonebook directory allows you to save an additional 25 names and numbers. A speakerphone makes hands-free conversations super convenient and a caller ID/call waiting feature ensures you don't miss those most important calls. The AT&T CL2940 can be mounted on a table or wall to save space.

I love it! It's hard to believe I'm saying this about a corded landline in this high tech age of fancy smart phones. I was blown away by all the extra features this has compared to the last time I bought a corded phone. For instance when you want to return a missed call all you do is pick up the receiver and it calls them back without you needing to dial the number. The instruction manual is the clearest written I've ever seen for any product, and you can master all the phones features in 15 minutes if you follow the instructions.

I had been using a South Centra Bell Phone that I had bought at Service Merchandise in the late 1970s, and to it I had attached an old AT&T Caller ID device that had been working fine for me for almost 30 years, too. Finally, the ID box stopped working last month, so in the process of searching for a replacement, I found that this new phone with features galore wasn't that much more money, AND it had the added benefit of taking up less space on my desk.

It works like a charm! There are lots of features that I haven't even learned how to use yet, like MENU SELECT, with all of its do-dads that would be second nature to my grandson—wait a minute, my grandson probably wonders why I am still using a land line telephone!

At any rate, if you would like to have a full featured land line telephone for not a whole lot of money, then this one might be just the one. Before I forget, you will have to buy four AA batteries in order for your caller ID to work. I opted to pay extra for those lithium batteries in order to get lots of time between battery changes, so that will be your only added expense. They even supply a cord to run from your wall outlet with the phone, in case you didn't keep your old one.

Good phone. I like the feature that I can review my numbers then stop at one name, pick up the phone and it dials that person I stopped at. Great feature :)

This phone works well and saves information on caller ID that is very easy to see and read off the screen. Also the receiver is comfortable to hold and it rings loudly enough to hear and flashes light on it's panel to alert you in receiving calls. The speaker phone works well and the phone numbers are clearly marked. Can easily be used with any answering machine. The phone receiver makes hearing incoming and outgoing calls voices loud and clear to both people. I like the colors offered as they blend in well with other household equipment.

this was a great purchase for 25.00. the buttons are huge and the display is large and tilts up to see, I purchased this to use with the agptek hands free headset. plugged right in, has a mute and a redial. the phone is light and takes 4 aa batteries to use some of the features but as this is for a work from home office, I'm happy with the product. I took off a star as it feels like it's a bit cheap, but it could be the lightweight material they use now days. I would recommend. if you are a senior. this is a great purchase as a regular land line.it doesn't not hand up with the purchased head set. you need to leave the hand set on the cradle to answer or hand up.
