This is an excellent product but I must say that I would cut back the whipping cream to 1 cup and cut back the half and half to 1 cup. I would then recommend that 1 cup of whole milk or better yet 2% milk be used. This helped the product taste much better for our family. Experiment with what works best for you. I must say this is a good base product and don't believe that I will use any other.
In further reading this past weekend I found that there are products available on Amazon that will stabilize the ice cream and make it last much longer in the freezer. Suggest you do some research on this and satisfy yourself as to the product stabilizer you may want to consider.
This mix is great. I used all half and half, the ice cream came out perfect. If you want a super firm ice cream follow the directions exactly on the box. I'm taking a star away because of cost.
After using this mix I bought the ingredients. Hershey cocoa, powdered sugar, imitation vanilla, and made my own powdered mix for alot less. Then I added half and half and heavy cream for a firm texture. It tasted great.
I like their product for convenience but it's too expensive for simple ingredients. They should lower their price to at least $9.99
The flavor of this ice cream was amazing! I tried it with one of the lower-priced ice cream roll makers (that thing sucked) but ended up freezing this ice cream mix in a glass container. The flavor is great! By the time you add up the cost of the ingredients you purchase it's cheaper to buy ice cream from the store but without the added chemicals, etc. this was an excellent option! Highly recommended!
Fantastic flavor and texture. Super easy to use. I use this as a base to make mocha almond ice cream. Just use 1/2 tsp instant coffee to our mixture and add toasted sliced almonds at the end. Will purchase again. I only wish you could buy in bulk to make this product cheaper.
These mixes are very good. I generally use half and half in the recipes and store in a gelato bin and it works well. Flavors are very rich. While I love chocolate, I prefer the vanilla as the chocolate has some grainyness from the cocoa. These are a great option for quick ice cream at home.
