Previous review that stated it would only work at 1080 likely used an HDMI cable. HDMI doesn't support 2560x1440. My 2014 macbook is currently working fine in the native resolution of 2560x1440 using the amazonbasics micro DP to DP cable.
You can get 32" monitors for less and also for a lot more, but would be hard pressed to do much better at this price for the feature set. I have never been disappointed with any of my Dell branded monitor purchases, but have been with other brands. For that reason, I wanted to stick with Dell.
After having this monitor for a few days and using it at the ideal resolution of 2560x1440, I am very glad that I didn't purchase one that maxed out at 1920x1080. The 2560x1440 resolution on a 32" monitor is about equivalent to 1920x1080 on a 24" monitor, except more of the page will show up on the larger monitor. For me there would be little point to purchasing a 32" monitor with 1920x1080 resolution. The other factor in my purchase was I needed a monitor with a Display Port input which this one has. I use it with my laptop that has only VGA and Display Port outputs for a monitor and I'm definitely not going to use VGA. I like the fact that this monitor has essentially the same OSD as my 24" IPS Dell monitor and also uses the same Display Manager software.
This Monitor is not an IPS panel. It is a VA panel. For the most part I can't tell much difference except for slightly reduced viewing angles, but still quite good. VA panels do excel at contrast and this monitor has very good contrast. I'm not really a gamer so haven't tested it in that regard, but I think this would be a pretty good gaming monitor. This monitor has very good looks and is mostly all black except for the Dell logo and silver stand. It stand is quite substantial at about 5 pounds and the monitor feels sturdy for it's size.
Pros: 2560x1440 Resolution
3000:1 Contrast Ratio
Display Port and HDMIx2 and USB Hub
Built in Speakers
FreeSync for AMD graphics
Sturdy Stand
Looks Good On or Off
Cons: VA panel (Also a pro for contrast)
Stand not height adjustable
Overall this appears to be an excellent monitor at this price point. You can get a 32" monitor for cheaper, but most of those have a max resolution of 1920x1080 which for me ruled them out. I have to add that Amazon was extremely prompt in delivering this monitor. I ordered it on a Friday and got it two days later on Sunday. Buy it. You'll like it.
I have worked from home for several years. I have been working with a laptop and a second external monitor. I wanted to get a larger second monitor and did a lot of searching on Amazon. I found this Dell but was a little uncertain because it was new and did not have many reviews. The price was good and I have always liked Dell products so I went ahead and ordered it.
The large screen (32 inch) is wonderful! I don't know why I took so long to get a bigger monitor. The screen is clear and bright. I actually had to turn the brightness down a little to make it more comfortable. The 1440p resolution is very good. Text is sharp. I work with a lot of spreadsheets and it works great for this.
Over the Christmas break a couple of my nephews brought their Xbox over with a 15 in monitor. I let them hook up to this Dell 32 inch and they were thrilled! (I rarely saw them again after that.) They said it worked great for their gaming. Mostly Fortnight and Call of Duty, also one car racing game. I didn't see any delays or slowness in the display when I watched a few times.
I am very happy with the purchase!!
I just got this monitor and I'm absolutely loving it - the colors are vivid and clear, the menu is easy to use, and it's absolutely massive. The resolution is excellent, at 1440x2560 images appear crisp, and the excellent backlighting, contrast, and colors produce vivid, realistic images. It's not world-class resolution - a 4k monitor would be better for that, but price vs. performance wise this is pretty unbeatable, I mean, I can only see someone needing better resolution for this if they were a professional photo/video editor or maybe a hyper-competitive gamer. Given that I went from a 13.3" laptop screen to this monitor, I have over 4x the screen space - it's SO easy to multitask. I can leave 4 windows open at once, allowing me to quickly work between multiple word/excel/chrome windows while also managing my music. I also used the monitor a bit for watching shows and gaming, and it performed excellently for both of those uses.
This is an excellent monitor, and as one of the cheapest 32" QHD's on the market, I can give it my strongest recommendation!
This monitor cannot be beat for the price. I did run into an issue using the provided HDMI cable (with a mini display port adapter) with my Surface Book 2 and docking station. After some investigating I learned that HDMI has a maximum resolution of 1980x1020. I purchased a mini display port-to-display port cable and instantly my surface book switched to the recommended resolution of 2560x1440. Tons of screen real estate.

I have been looking for a 32 in 2K display for a very long time now and majority of the had some backlight issue. I must say this product has almost no backlight bleed compared to $350+ peers. The base is very heavy and metallic, no safety issues here. Speakers gets the job done, do not expect miracles. Bezels are a bit thick but not in a way to bother you, it has normal bezels. Display is great, colors are great. At first I was worried about the size but in time you get used to it. No dead pixels. Contrast is remarkable. Brightness is superb. Best blacks I've ever seen. Viewing angles are great. Heavy duty solid metal stand functions perfectly. The low haze finish looks top notch on this VA panel. Down firing speakers sound good for 5w units. Only slightly larger footprint than a 27". Using it for home office, gaming and watching movies. Longevity unknown but as new it's great. FreeSync is icing on the cake. This is one of those times that feels like you're getting more than you paid for. I was looking for a 4K monitor, but my graphics card would also need to be upgraded. 4K TVs are getting cheaper, but I really wanted a monitor because of all the text I look at and didn't want to gamble on letter quality. So I ended up looking at 2K monitors instead. No issues with resolution as stated by some other reviewers I have a Alpha R2. I first hooked it up with the computer off, plugged in the hdmi & another wire that needs to be connected to the monitor and goes into the computers usb, then plugged in the power cord and turned on my computer with no issues monitor was recognized for the native resolution with no problem. Great features, it’s mountable there’s a plastic piece that pops off real easy to access the screw holes, built in speakers was huge for me because it’s so much more convenient ( real decent sound ), 32” 2k, all for a fair price. Just hooked it up yesterday and am very happy with this product. The 2k item is far superior than dells cheaper 32” which I also own, the 1080 32” will turn off from static in house if you walk on the carpet and try to move the screen or open a room door however this 2k 32” i was moving it around today to see if I could get it to act up but nothing so for an extra $100 bucks you get a far better monitor from these guys. My monitor was flashed on and off (power was always on). I downloaded a driver for this monitor from the Dell site but had the same problem. Got in touch with Amazon tech support and after some questions such as check for cable tightness etc they routed me to the Dell tech support.
I got this monitor for $280 when it was on sale. You cant get a monitor in this quality for that price. I'm very happy of my purchase.
This one was priced right, had a decent warranty, and good reviews except a few people saying it was just a 1080p monitor. The specs said otherwise, so I took a chance on it. I used an Amazon Basics DisplayPort cable to hook it up.
I believe people who say it is a 1080p monitor are using the wrong cables, or have some other issue that forces the monitor to use the lower resolution. I have no such issue at all. There is no doubt that it is running in 2560 x 1440 quality. Text is crisp and clear. There are no dead pixels. Games and videos run great. Lots of extra screen space.
Overall, I have had it for a month now and use it 8-12 hours per day every day. I am very happy with the purchase.
Tech support was friendly and helpful, however their trouble shooting was less than it should be. Specifically - they sent me a replacement monitor that came in the next day. Very good. The new monitor acted the same as original one (going black randomly for about 4 or 5 seconds - this would happen 2 or three times an hour). After doing some internet research I found a site that recommended changing the Refresh rate from 60 Hz (default setting) to 75 Hz. It instantly corrected the problem and has been good since. More thorough troubleshooting would have save everyone a lot of time and money with all that hassle associated with product returns etc. My previous monitor is a Dell and that was a big reason I stayed with Dell.
I have a 2018 computer with AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with Radeon Vega Graphics
I use the monitor for stock screening (32" very good size for multiple charts etc)
Also for photography editing etc.
