I have been a long time fan of air plants, and was excited to get a bunch in this variety pack to add to my collection. Although the plants looked great when they arrived within two weeks it was clear they were dying or dead and by four weeks later they were totally desiccated. Of course by this time, I was outside of the return window and Amazon was absolutely of no help.
But then I remembered a info sheet that came with the plants listing an email next to the statement "our plants are warranted for 3 months after the date of purchase. Skeptical, I sent an email to the address listed. Amazingly, I got a response in less than 24 hours! And Robbie seemed to agree with my assessment and told me that it seemed frost damage was likely. He asked for my shipping address and told me he would ship out replacement plants immediately.
Although the weather sort of screwed up my first batch of plants, I have nothing but great things to say about this company, its customer service and it's product (they looked great when they arrived, but unfortunately a lot like evergreens, air plants can take a while to actually look dead).
TL;DR: Plants arrived quickly, but were frost damaged, despite being outside amazon return window, company sent out free replacement immediately
I'll admit I was reticent to order plants online, but the reviews for these air plants were so encouraging I took a chance and I'm so glad I did.
I ordered half a dozen and received eleven lovely little plants! They are truly so pretty, healthy and make a great addition to my bathroom. I also love that this company supports rescue shelters. I adopted my cat five years ago from a shelter and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Thank you for my beautiful new plants and promoting Adopt, Don't Shop!
These plants are bigger than the Tillandsia plants I've seen included in gifts (paperweight mounts). While those plants looked quite small and unhealthy, these are (mostly) large and green. I used the smaller ones to make magnets with wine corks (see photo) and I placed a few of the bigger ones in a tealight holder from IKEA (candle holders have airholes and IKEA has some cute ones that look like little greenhouse gazebos. I thought the Tillandsias would look cute in it, and so far, so good.). The rest I gave away as gifts. My desk now has what I call the Zen corner - a shelf that was meant for files is now used for my airplant collection.
UPDATE: I followed the watering instructions and my plants looked less and less healthy. I then realized they were being under, not over watered and I started soaking them for long periods of time which didn't work as well as I'd hoped. A blog post on caring for drier plants said to soak them overnight - thus made them look much healthier! So-don't be afraid of soaking them for longer than the instructions say if you're in a drier climate. It's winter here and the inside can be like the dessert in my office.
I really like that this company also supports adopting pets from a shelter. Proceeds go towards saving a life from euthanasia. I'm not in a place where I can adopt right now, but if you are, they offer free airplants to people who have previously purchased from them and have adopted. (24 Tillies for free!! - I'm jealous!). One of the sweetest, kindest, gentlest dogs I've ever met was a beautiful mutt from a shelter. She alone is the reason I want to adopt someday.
Per the flyer I received with this order, they now also sell at PlantsforPets.com.
My order had an original delivery date of January 3rd... they arrived today (January 11th) with good reason. When the plants weren’t arriving I contacted the seller and received a quick, reasonable response: the cold snap made it hazardous for the plants to travel. Totally ok with that reasoning! :) he sent them as soon as the weather seemed safe, and I noticed when I opened the box there was a little disposable heating pack inside. As you can see, they’re alive and ready for my AP Biology students to observe! Plus they help animal shelters??? Total winners there!!! :D As someone who rescues ferrets, I appreciate anyone that encourages animal adoption!! I will definitely order from them again... thank you for everything!!!
I just received my first order of little airplants and i love them. Right now they just got their bath and they are getting some light. They were packaged beautiful and i was given alot more than i ordered. I was surpised at how big some of them were and of course there were some tiny ones which are really cute. I also love how they support adopting animals from homeless shelters i have been looking into that to help with ptsd. I know articles say animals help in the healing process. I usually dont write reviews on the first day i received them but everything wasdone well and the plants are very green. I know if they arent green next week its more my fault i dont have the greenest of thumbs and am hoping this is one plant i dont kill. :( cant wait to put them in their little globe homes.

Description
Add natural beauty to your home or office with air plants! These indoor plants don't need soil to grow, so they can flourish in many different environments. Additionally, they require only a moderate amount of light and only need watering about once a week, making them the lowest-maintenance plants available!
What separates these unique plants from other plants are their leaves, which have adapted to absorb water and nutrients from the air. This allows air plants to thrive when they are suspended in the air or grown atop driftwood and rocks. Air plants are perfect for terrariums, cages, and glass containers with holes or gaps that allow for plenty of air flow. There are a myriad of other creative ways to display air plants; the possibilities are limited only by your imagination! Air plants look especially beautiful when set atop river stones, natural-colored gravel, or driftwood.
Air plants make excellent gifts for house-warming or other occasions. They are also work wonderfully as desktop decorations for your office or home desk.
We recommend keeping air plants in an area where they receive a moderate amount of light. Indirect sunlight and artificial home/office lighting are appropriate for these plants. It's generally safe to keep air plants in direct sunlight for a short period of time each day, but we recommend misting them with water every 2 hours or so to keep them from drying out. The optimal way to water air plants is to soak them in water for 2 hours once per week. If you find the leaves of your air plants are becoming soft or pale in color, this means the plant is too dry, and you should try misting or watering them more often.
Air plants come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, though most species primarily feature green leaves. Many of our air plants also exhibit stunning pink blooms.
Each air plant ranges from 2 to 5 inches in size. The plants you receive may or may not already have blooms.
When I first received the order, I was very unhappy. The plants were all brown, dried up, curled up. I followed the instructions that came in the package exactly but there was no hope. I contacted the seller, Rob, and advised him of the condition of the plants. At the time, we were having below zero weather conditions, which may have had something to do with it. I suggest if you are in a similar situation that you write to the seller before you order and ask him to put a hand warmer or something in with the product. He is a wonderful man, very easy to communicate with and very happy to accommodate you. He made good on the plants and then some. The plants do dehydrate some in shipping and it’s critical to follow the instructions that come with them. I will reiterate, DO NOT THROW AWAY THE PAPERS THAT COME WITH YOUR ORDER! Not only are there instructions for when you first get the plants, but there are care sheets for the plants included, along with the seller’s contact information. There is no reason for this seller/product to have a bad review. The people writing bad reviews have either not followed instructions or not contacted the seller to let him know that they are disappointed. I will purchase these plants from this seller again and again! They make great gifts. Buy a clear glass container, throw in some sand, moss and a plant…poof! You’ve got a lasting, attractive gift that doesn’t require much care. There’s nothing worse than getting a gift that you have to “take care of”! With friends like that, who needs enemies, right?
This is my first purchase through aquatic arts and I am very impressed!! Firstly, I ordered a 12 pack and got 14 very nice, healthy looking plants of all sizes! What a great surprise!
They came packaged very nicely with very detailed instructions on how to prep your plants and how to care for them in the long run. Even what the reproduction process is like! I am new to air plants so I really appreciated that!
I feel like I got an amazing assortment and even 2 of the ones I was hoping to get just one of, from looking through review pics. So I had to come write one myself!
I also love the company’s mission!! They really are out here trying to help animals!
I rescued my LuLa girl from The Humaine Society a year ago. Her tail is broken in several spots so it’s deformed looking. I assume that’s why no one picked her but that’s exactly why we chose to! I have 3 kids and a large breed dog who she loves so much and gets along with really well!
Adopt! Don’t shop! <3
Items arrived quickly and in good shape. I bought a couple glass globes to display them in. I'm going to put some sparkling glass beads on the bottom, place the plants inside, and then hang the globes near a window. It will add a nice bit of green to my home. It feels good supporting this company too because they are avid supporters of pet adoption from local shelters, and put some of the money that they make into this effort. Being a long time adopter of shelter dogs and cats, I really appreciate and respect this effort by PlantsforPets. Please, if you are looking for a pet, go to your local shelter to adopt a pet in need. There are so many adorable, loving animals who only want to be your best friend. I currently have adopted kitties in my home, and can tell you that they have changed my life for the better. And after you adopt a shelter animal, buy these adorable plants. The company is solid, the plants are adorable, and I received mine fast and in great condition!
My air plants came a day earlier than expected - thumbs up to the seller. Additional kudos for including a handful more plants than I ordered! They arrived wrapped in a plastic bag, with a sheet of instructions in the box. I received a good variety in this order, all green with healthy-looking leaves and roots. I soaked them immediately, as directed, using filtered water (to which I had already added a Bromeliad fertilizer). I've only had them for a few hours and am already getting compliments on how pretty they are. My only issue so far has been finding places for all of them, since they sent more plants than I had pots. I had bought another, smaller set of air plants a few months ago for a similar price from a different seller - they came at the later end of the delivery time, and despite excellent care, one that appeared weak on arrival has already died. I realize it's early to tell if (or how many of) these will hold up, but so far, my experience has been comparatively very good. For the price, number, and variety, I would order these again.
These beauties came to life after their first water (see picture). I’ve had them 3 weeks now and love them, but the poor air circulation, dryness and lack of consistent natural light in my apartment is making it hard to keep these babies alive. I will say the larger of the bunch (about 7) are doing just fine despite and will probably last, but the babies live in struggletown :). Still glad I purchased them though and would purchase again without a doubt. It’s my new apartment trying to kill them because as you can see in the picture, they arrived to me pretty healthy. I know people recommend infrequent spritzing and watering, but if you have an extremely dry home like me, I would suggest monitoring how quickly they seem to “dry” and water more often if needed. The larger ones seem to hold water longer than the smaller/thin plants. I could tell they were dry, but wanted to follow instructions — so I waited to spritz or water and that isn’t working out so great. *And yes I plan to purchase a humidifier or something, but I just moved in and didn’t realize the air quality when I ordered these. But now I do :).
Also...love these people give incentives for adopting (although we don’t need them, am I right??) I would give anything to adopt right now but circumstances don’t allow, so the best I can do is encourage anyone with the time, space, funds and most of all real, pure LOVE to give to consider adoption over other methods. Regular folks buy new, but special people search for the gently used and worn out because they know with their help, it’ll become more upgraded and improved than before ;).
