New and Improved Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced Formula Dispenser Machine - Automatically Mix a Warm Formula Bottle Instantly - Easily Make Bottle with Automatic Powder Blending

New and Improved Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced Formula Dispenser Machine - Automatically Mix a Warm Formula Bottle Instantly - Easily Make Bottle with Automatic Powder Blending

Having used this for a couple months, I'm going to second what most reviewers proclaim. This is an awesome, luxury item for formula fed babies...but one that definitely has its flaws.

For late night feedings, this is a godsend. One press, voila, bottle. And for those who think babies don't prefer warmed versus room temp bottles, I dare you to try this and hold steadfast to that opinion. The Kinde warmer is junk compared to how the Brezza heats.

This is also compatible with pretty much every mainstream formula out there...to include Nutramigen. Big win there if/when little one needs to change up. Finally, it takes up minimal counter space. Nice.

Not everything is perfect. The water reservoir does not detach easily; better to pour water directly in. Six ounces mixer more like seven (be warned if you're counting intake).

Last and most importantly: This will clog and often under the dispenser...but the remedy is actually quite simple once you figure it out. The culprit is leftover formula buildup that eventually clogs the opening (and stops it from rotating). Buy sandwich picks Royal Wood Sandwich Picks, Package of 750, where the rounded side will get the big stuff, the pointed inside the circle groove. You'll be amazed at how much these picks get in only 10-15 seconds of work. Once a day is more than sufficient. Related, I like sandwich picks as they won't damage/scrape at the dispenser (being smooth). Also a year's supply for $8 is one heckuva price.

Is this a stupid design flaw? Darn straight it is. But feel confident buying this...accompanied by picks...to overcome.

Do NOT attempt to clean the dispenser underside with any moisture or recommended paper towel. These will push moisture or more formula into the cracks and further clog. This will require taking apart the whole thing, rinsing and thoroughly drying the whole unit = ~45 min later.

Hope this is helpful. I happened to have the sandwich picks around, and discovered this by accident. And boy does it work.

I am always amazed at how many people evidently do not follow directions and then offer a negative review. I've posted a handful of reviews on here and I always try to be truthful and accurate. We purchased this machine purely as a convenience and small luxury - by no means is it a necessity. I am a very technical, detail-oriented and mechanically-inclined person - so it's my nature to be thorough. That being said, I tend to read through instruction manuals. For us, this machine works perfectly - but YOU NEED TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. I will respectfully refute some comments I've read on here and explain why I think people are not having good experiences with it. 1) It does not make more than the selected measurement. When I select 4 oz., the finished result is barely over 4 oz. of formula (formula + water). 2) The machine does not "cause" spitting up. The machine simply mixes water and formula - I'm not sure how someone can blame a machine for their baby spitting-up. 3) Overflowing water - I'm guessing this can only be the result of not bothering to notice the MAX FILL line on the reservoir.
The machine dispenses formula based not only on the formula manufacturer - but the manufacturer's specific blend (Example - You set the dispensing wheel not just for "Enfamil" but for "Enfamil > Gentlease"). Maybe this is why some people claim theirs makes 4.5 oz when they select 4 oz or why they claim their formula is watery ("did they follow the directions?"). Another suggestion....CLEAN THE DISPENSING AREA REGULARLY (again, "follow directions"). It takes less than 5 minutes - simply pull out the funnel and wipe the area where the powder drops out. People - it's a powdery substance - when you introduce moisture, there will be some caking! We clean ours each night when cleaning the bottles and have no problems with consistency and quantity. If you wait too long, powder will build-up and change the consistency of the formula (aha....another reason for poor results!). I simply run a toothpick in the groove around the dispensing slot and wipe the funnel - that's it! Another bonus...When grandma babysits, there's no measuring, mixing and bottle-heating required - we just tell her to put a bottle under the dispenser and press start. You pre-set the ounce selector (2,4,6,8,10 oz) and it stays at that selection until you change it. The water and formula blend together and comes out at a perfect 98 degrees - not too hot and not too cold. It's basically "formula on demand" (we jokingly refer to it as the baby's Kuerig as it sits next to ours on the counter and works similarly). One thing we make a habit of doing is capping the bottle and giving a gentle shake to ensure the mix is blended - in our quest for the right formula, we've noticed some formula clumps more than others in the bottle, but this is not a result of the machine - it's a result of mixing powder and water. All I can say is we've been using this for 2 months and this machine has been such a convenience. The 3 minutes a day (literally) you spend wiping it down is exponentially offset by the time you would spend measuring, mixing, heating/testing (too cold, now too hot...) and preparing bottles. I hope this helps in the decision process and prompts some unsatisfied users to review their methods.

Update Feb 2015...Still working fine for us....Changed the baby's formula type - adjusted the settings...business as usual.

Update November 2015....The machine was a great investment and provided great convenience. Our son recently turned 1 and we have just about migrated to milk only. The machine is destined to be donated to our soon-to-be parent friends.

NOTE: I purchased this item for full price. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are not well written or give poor reviews based on not reading directions or failing to read the product details prior to purchasing. Writing valuable reviews helps pay it forward.

I couldn't blindly trust a machine to make my newborn's formula without knowing if it was accurate. Especially with reading such mixed reviews on here. We love this machine and it is the BEST purchase ever for those times when your baby just can't wait a few minutes for you to make and warm a bottle.
I put Saran Wrap inside the dispenser and then measured the formula. This was for a 2oz bottle so it should be equivalent to 1 level scoop. I found that just by the look of the two comparisons in a dish, the Brezza was dispensing too much formula. So I got out my scale and found out that Brezza is most accurate compared to a PACKED level scoop. My glass dish was 90g so Brezza dispensed 9g of formula. A non-packed manual scoop weighed 8g and a packed level scoop was 9g. I am impressed and satisfied by these results and I will continue to use it 24/7 to feed my baby. I followed all directions exactly and I do the daily maintenance exactly as directed. Will update as needed.

Update: now my baby is 9 months and we still use this machine 5-6x every single day and night. We just took it on vacation with us because its that essential to my sanity. I have also used 2 other kinds of formulas and with the Saran wrap test they measure exactly what they should according to the directions. One other thing that is REALLY important: you need to leave the lid off the water container at LEAST a few hours a day. The reviews about mold in the water dispenser silicone "straw" are because they left the lid on 24/7 and of course mold will grow in warm humid conditions. I have never seen any mold but I am super paranoid about it, so I leave the top off the water any time that I know there is no chance of anything getting in the water container (like when I'm cooking, etc). So far, no mold EVER, and the water dispenser acts just like a sink fountain when dispensing the water. No mold will grow because of how much air circulates around that silicone piece. Or at least thats what I figure since I've been using this machine for almost 10 months straight, 4-6 bottles a day, and never see even a tiny speck of mold.

This machine will change your life!! I love it. I have to review it because, I read reviews before buying. I want to share my opinion as well. It works great as long as you have a pipe cleaner to clean the opening of the powder shoot. And DON'T skip cleanings. And DO take it completely apart, CLEAN, & DRY once a week. Very important to recalibrate it once a week to keep it making the bottles properly. If you fail to do these simple steps, it will begin to act crazy. By making bottles of random amounts, higher or lower than your intended setting-only by 2oz either way. Also, no this isn't a necessary for survival tool. However, in the middle of the night when your super tired, its fantastic to have. I have it set up in my babies room, with bottles, and whatever I need to make bottles on the spot. I can make my baby a bottle while I change his diaper, and then sit comfortably in my rocker and give him his bottle without leaving the room in the middle of the night. Its awesome because, I live in a house that has stairs. I don't have to walk down to the kitchen every 2-4 hours for a bottle at night. I can rinse the parts in the bathroom sink if I need to make a quick clean. It is time saving and comes out at the perfect temperature every time.

I've been using the Baby Brezza for about 3 months now and I think it's awesome. There are several high profile negative reviews out there, and I'm sure some are valid but the majority are unfounded or posted by misinformed individuals. One in particular states that the unit measured out six times the specified amount of powder. Though the response from the manufacturer was poorly executed they were correct in their position that it is not physically possible for this to happen if the unit is put together correctly. There is a disc that has a hole that is sized according to the recommendations for the formula that you're using and locked in place. The disk rotates under a "wiper blade" that levels the powder within that hole immediately prior to dropping the powder into the bottle. The disk rotates one time for a 2 oz bottle, 2 times for a 4 oz bottle, etc. It is a positive displacement metering system that is very reliable... when assembled correctly.

I've only encountered one negative issue, which almost made me return the unit within the first week. For some unknown reason the unit wouldn't dispense anything when I pressed the start button. The pump would make noises like it was working but the disc wouldn't spin and water would not dispense. The manual says nothing about troubleshooting this issue and online information is spotty, at best, but I found the remedy after much searching and here it is: Simply press and hold the "Ounce", "Start", and "Stop" buttons for several seconds until powder and water are dispensed. Then, discard the mixture and you're now ready to mix up a fresh bottle.

We've had to use that procedure twice to reset the unit. It's annoying but easy enough to do. It's also a very small inconvenience compared to what you're getting out of it. Sure, dumping a few scoops of powder into some water seems easy enough, but at 3am with a screaming infant it's so awesome to be able to simply press a button and handle the situation.

Update 12/2/2018: It's been 10 months and still going strong. We haven't had to use the reset procedure since I wrote the first review. My guess is that the pump lost its prime due to an air pocket and, since we've kept it full, it hasn't lost its prime. I'm sure if I let it dry out I might have to reprime it at some point (e.g. after storing it for the next kid).

Bought this for my daughter for a baby shower gift. She and her husband are astonished by the swift prep of the baby’s bottle. I stayed at their house to babysit and had the opportunity to use it myself. Wow!! I was so impressed. I nicknamed it the baby’s Kiureg because it makes a perfect beverage at the perfect temp. Literally made four ounce bottle in 5 seconds! I did read all the recommendations regarding keeping funnel clear of excess formula so every four bottles we just remove the funnel and give a quick wipe with paper towel and pop it back in. I’m so happy to have given the kids such a beneficial gift. It is a bit noisy but as I say it’s only 5 seconds of sound.

UPDATE, UPDATE. It's been over a year, we have transitioned off of formula and I can truly say this was THE best buy as far as baby items we've purchased. We cleaned and stored it for our next child. THANK YOU Baby Brezza for keeping us sane over the last year. You da real MVP.
Update**** Still in love with this machine! We've had it for a month now and literally wish it could be packed in a diaper bag for travel. BEST BUY EVER!
So far so good! We've only been using it for a few days but it literally has saved us during those 2am feedings and The Banshee (our son) is screaming because he's hungry and his fussing didn't wake us, so he resorts to full on pissed. Lol! (We love him dearly, don't worry!)
It makes the bottle so fast and very few times has there been clumps that we need to shake the bottle. (Which we do a little anyway to be sure!) Just be sure and read the directions thoroughly and it's pretty simple! We love it! Best buy yet!

Here's the deal. I'll try to keep this concise.

Pros:
- Makes bottles of warm formula for babies - we have twins and I can't live without our Baby Brezza.
- Very fast
- Accurately mixes formula
- Makes you clean it every so often - beep indicators
- Lets you know when the water is running low

Cons:
- It's annoying that it beeps at you every 4 times you try to make a bottle. When the babies are crying, PLEASE just let me make a bottle! I promise, I'll clean it.
- Cleaning the thing is a nightmare. We try to let the powdered formula get as low as possible to reduce the risk of wasting the powdered gold. Take it apart, clean it, and let EVERYTHING dry. I only do a take-apart clean about once a month. Our babies are still alive.
- Using distilled water is a pain sometimes.

You will want to use the calibration chart to ensure that the formula is being measured properly, BUT I also had made a bottle of formula using the instructions on the canister of our formula (Kirkland) THEN made a bottle using the Baby Brezza and weighed them in grams to make sure it was dispensing the correct amount. Our twins just had their 6 month appointment and they are gaining weight, so it must be working.

Bottom line - if you treat this thing like it is giving your child the life-giving nutrients that he/she/they need, it will work. Keep it clean, don't over-fill the formula basin, you'll be good. Use distilled water ($0.86) and all will be well.

This machine has been a lifesaver for my wife and I and our awesome twins.

I can't say enough about the Baby Brezza formula pro. Once I stated formula feeding I knew I had to have one. Let me just say, as a first time mom, I didn't realize just how many times I would be preparing a bottle for my infant. It's hard enough making my way to the kitchen after getting only an hour or so of sleep, but preparing bottles while still half asleep isn't easy. With the formula pro, you just choose the amount (in 2 ounce increments) and voila! Perfect temperature, perfect mixture of formula every time. This was by far the best baby purchase I've ever made. There were some reviews about how some machines clogged or needed too much cleaning, both of which I never noticed. I would wipe the excess off the bottom of mine daily, and give it a good complete cleaning only once a month and it worked perfectly. If you are going to formula feed, do yourself a favor and buy this now!!!

This product has been amazing! Best baby gadget I bought. By far. It has made bottle making a 10 second process. I heard there were some measurement issues on the older model. I measured this one to be sure and it is accurate. There is some maintenance required:
-Clean nozzle every 4 bottles (it will remind you). Also wipe the machine where the nozzle is pulled out from. It would get pretty nasty if you don't do that
-Once a month empty machine and clean with vinegar. Opened powder formula is only good for 1 month, so you have to empty and use it up the old way or discard.

In my opinion the small amount of maintenance is well worth the convenience of being able to make a warm bottle with the touch of a button. I absolutely recommend this product!
