I saw this when I went looking to replace yet another failed Macbook Magsafe charging block and it's been an excellent replacement, so far. I'm not a huge fan of Apple aftermarket products but figured nothing could be as terrible as the original. I've had to replace 3 of them for overheating and split connection wiring, and they are not cheap. I received this item super fast and it was "out of the box' ready to use. Plugged in and took about half hour to charge my completely dead laptop. Thus far, it's been working like a charm. No overheating at all, a good solid plug, nice long cord and a connection that snaps snugly into the power port. I'm happy.
I went through a few different chargers after my dog started chewing through cords and I finally landed on this one. All the other ones seemed cheap and started to overheat. However, this one has been everything that I need a charger to be. It does have a capacitor and light so you know that it is working. The USB feature is nice as well incase you have all your USB slots full on your mac. This charger does not have the fancy unfolding hooks for wrapping the cord around, nor does it have the option for a shorter cord like the original apple but, among the non-apple macbook chargers this is probably your best bet. They do not try to make a knockoff, they just make a good product that gets the job done safely.
Read the reviews before I bought. Seems like they worked out all the bugs, and this product works great. The usb port is very convenient for charging my phone. My last non-apple charger was horrible. If this lasts a year, I'll get a second one as back up. The cord is very long. I don't know that it charges really quickly, but I do know that it charges and that everything stays plugged in. I'm very impressed. And it's a great price compared to the apple charger I got with my mac which started fraying a year or two in exposing the wires which was very dangerous. I ended up having to replace it a year ago (I'd had it for 4 years I believe, frayed and jacked up looking). Hoping this product lasts awhile and that the quality continues to improve or even stays the same. Would recommend.
The only thing worse than getting a cheap knockoff that fails within a short amount of time is getting one that costs 2/3s as much as the real deal. I am pleased to report that this "Little Big" device is able to power a laptop that requires an 85W adapter. Even when the laptop is running its hardest, it's able to keep powering the laptop without getting too warm. Let's hope it lasts. I'm also excited about the prospect of using this versatile charger as an alternative for my 13" MBP w/ USB-C ports.
Arrived quickly as always with Prime, packaging was great and you could tell it was a solid product from the first unwrapping-getgo. Plugged in, cord was ample long enough, longer than I thought it would be. The cord itself with the magnet and power connector is a bit stiff, so suggest taking a couple minutes working with to get out the kinks, otherwise with movement it'll pull out of the laptop charging port. Magnet attached quickly and as strong as the original, but again, work that cord a bit so it doesn't come free. After a few charges seems to charge faster that the original! Like they advertise, definitely is not getting anywhere near as hot as the original adapter, which is fantastic. No more overheating with adapter, no more near loss of life from shock, much better use of heat dissipation on this new adapter, very well done.
Seriously, the original adapter problem..it would overheat to where it would scald skin (my leg could prove this in court), cook whatever touched it, and the cables would get to the point of melting, and therefore bend more - eventually with enough heat around the rubber seal, that's where the wires bent and eventually failed. Seriously dangerous, almost shocked to death once. DO NOT wait if you have wires showing. Be it you, a child or animal getting exposed to the voltage/amperage.
Lastly a nice little addition is the USB charger in the adapter, which we're using now to save up a slot in the power strip. Charge a phone and a laptop at the same time. Gonna be using this a lot for travel.
Nope didn't get a thing for this review. Just bought the product and started using it immediately. Amazingly cheap compared to the Apple OEM #burnmyleg adapter, and seems like it's going to last a long time.

It is working well over 4 months later with no issues. I really like the smaller plug size because it takes up less space on a power strip. The added feature of two spots for a USB charger and lightning port are also really nice because you charge your other products without needing to take up more space on the power strip as well. Unlike my apple charger, this one does not get as hot which is nice when you have to lay it over sensitive spaces or you need to pack it up quickly.
Initially i really liked this charger. I like that it can charge my computer and my iPad/iPhone from the same device. I also like that it makes it easier for travel and uses less outlet space. HOWEVER, it stopped working after 3 months. I contacted the company and they quickly replied and sent me a new one! Very happy an satisfied with both the charger and customer service
I cannot answer the rate features, as I have only had the new Charger for a few days....however, I had the first charger for several years and it has worked very well. When the wire frayed I faced the prospect of no computer use and that did not sit well with me.
Much to my surprise, I only had to order another charger and it was here the next day!!
Wow, that was a very pleasant surprise!
Back on line in a jiffy and very grateful for it!
Thanks so much to Little Big Team!!
I have seen it asked and had the question myself, can you use this as a replacement for the 85w with a MBP Retina 15". The answer is yes. I am using it on my late 2012 and it works fine. It charges slower than the 85w OE, but it does charge. I have never drawn on the battery while plugged in - but I mostly do browsing and light application work, I'm not running Photoshop, iMovie, etc.
I am pleased with it for the price and would recommend it to others.
I have purchased 4 units of these so that I could plug in my laptop anywhere (e.g., my study, kitchen, bedroom, living room, etc.) in my house without unplugging it each time and having to move it around with me. Unlike Apple's original, it does not get hot as much even after long use. I love that I can charge my cell phone from the unit as well. How brilliant is that? Green LED indicator helps find it at night out of a heap of the electrical cords. I purchase one and used it a while first to see if I really liked it. I loved it enough to buy 3 more units.
