Fujifilm Instax Mini Monochrome Film - 10 Exposures

Fujifilm Instax Mini Monochrome Film - 10 Exposures

Great product, if not a bit overpriced. And for the record, this is grayscale film, not monochrome. Monochrome is 2 colors, this is 256+ shades of black/white/gray.

My daughter and her friends had a wonderful time taking photos with her Fuji Instax 90 mini vintage style camera at her graduation party. I gave her black and white film and color film. All of the photos turned out great! It was a wonderful way to capture memories before they head off to different universities. I love the retro feel of the black and white photos they reminds me of the old photos my grandparents used to show me. The film was easy to load in the camera & all of the photos came out nice and clear. The instax mini photos are smaller than the classic Polaroid instant photos I grew up with, but I actually like this size better. There are lots of accessory sets are available that have frames, clips and photo albums specifically made for the instax mini photos.

What can I say? Instax is fun. I'm a big fan of B&W film/pictures, so I of course had to try this film. It definitely can change the mood of a photo. It isn't quite black and white, but definitely monochrome. It looks like an inkjet print that uses all three colors to print B&W photos - there's usually bit of a color tint to it.

I have mixed feelings about this film. Instax and instant film in general is fun to use, and great for taking all sorts of photos. My gripe about this particular film is that it's black and white, but costs more than standard color film. I realize that black and white photos are kind of a niche market, but how could black and white film be more expensive to make? I'll still be buying more on and off, but I'd love to buy bulk packs, which don't exist as of yet. The film quality is excellent, the pictures you can get with these are great and clear with great contrast. If you take a photo of something that's overpoweringly yellow, sometimes that shows through. Other than that, this is a great medium. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves taking photos with their Instax Mini camera, but has a little extra cash to pay for this "premium" film.

very nice BW film, lots of contrast. Shot mine in the neo 90, it needs a lot of light, I had mine lightened a lot.
here in a picture in full sunlight of one of my other camera's.

No complaints, except its small, so I sold the camera and ordered the new polaroid yes new polaroid, the impossible film company bought polaroid and now they make new film in BW and cameras.

It’s a good film type that’s a tad bit more expensive per shot than the normal colored film. The picture quality is a little bad but I think it adds to the black and white. The film does not perform well in low light scenarios at all. It performs a little better in high light scenarios, but I’d personally recommend staying away from using it indoors, at night, looking into lights, or on a super sunny day.

I really love this film. Black and White does require a bit more attention to lighting and existing dark and light contrast of your subject matter, but as someone who spent many hours in the darkroom as a teenager and in college, it was like meeting up with an old friend. After shooting the first pack, I began seeing everything around me as I used to when I shot a lot of black & white film. Now that the weather has warmed up again, after the brief "heatwave" a couple of months ago, I'm excited to get out and use the other two packs I purchased.

We exclusively use the color Instax film for our family photo albums but when we took a trip to Italy I thought it would be nice if all the photos we took over there were monochrome. This film is a bit pricier than the color one but the photos look great and they really stand out from the rest in our albums.

Got these as a gift, GF loves the quick prints. Lighting needs to be just right to get good photos with the Instax cameras.

I had forgotten I'd loaded this black and white film into my camera when I started snapping pictures on Thanksgiving. They were rather lovely! Very artistic, very Cindy Sherman. So glad Instax exists. I've had my camera for eight years and it continues to be a hit at parties.
